Welcome to Roman 2 Norman!

This website deals with people and events, throughout the world, during the time frame delineated by the Roman abandonment of England (around A.D. 400) to the Norman conquest of England (A.D. 1066).

The original basis for the information contained herein is the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle, specifically the translation done by the Rev. James Ingram in 1912. While other translations have been produced since this one, the Ingram translation remains one of the more widely accepted translations in existance despite some inaccuracies in Ingram's notes, which have been omitted.
